SnipBits was built by an editor, for editors.
After years of digging through interviews, press conferences, podcasts, and game footage just to find a handful of soundbites, it became clear that the slowest part of editing wasn’t the edit — it was finding the moments worth editing.
SnipBits solves that.
It’s a Mac app that automatically scans your footage, searches transcripts for the keywords you choose, and builds a perfectly organized selects timeline in seconds. No more scrubbing. No more guessing. No more hours lost to Control-F searches.
Every feature in SnipBits came directly from real-world production demands. Whether it was tracking down every mention of a player for a sports hype video, finding references to New Orleans for Sugar Bowl content, or pulling track names from decades of IndyCar broadcasts, the app evolved project by project — until it became a full, powerful tool that could help any editor work faster.
SnipBits is designed for:
• Sports editors hunting for specific player or team mentions
• Podcast producers gathering sponsor reads across episodes
• Documentary filmmakers searching interviews for themes or names
• News and broadcast teams collecting soundbites on breaking stories
• Social content creators pulling topic-specific quotes
• Corporate and marketing teams tracking key messaging
• Anyone who works with long-form footage and needs to find specific moments fast
It all happens locally on your Mac — no uploads, no servers, no tracking, no internet required. Your footage stays exactly where it is.
SnipBits turns hours of searching into seconds, giving editors more time to actually create.
Try it free on the Mac App Store and see how much time you get back.
ABOUT SnipBits
ABOUT Matt
I’m Matt Tornquist — a filmmaker, editor, and founder of Space4 Creative. Before moving to Tampa, I spent five seasons leading LSU Football’s post-production team, crafting Heisman campaigns, national-championship content, and high-energy storytelling that helped define the program’s creative identity. My work now spans SEC Network, INDYCAR, military features, corporate brand pieces, and everything in between.
SnipBits didn’t start as a product. It started as a tool I was building for myself — a way to survive the endless hours I spent searching for soundbites across interviews, pressers, documentaries, and game footage. Every project demanded another improvement: one feature for SEC Nation, another for Sugar Bowl, another for INDYCAR… and over time, that little helper script turned into a full, powerful Mac app.
I never set out to build software. I just needed a faster, smarter way to find the moments that matter. Eventually, SnipBits became too useful not to share.
If it saves you as much time — and frustration — as it’s saved me, then it was worth building.
